Swisscom provides employees a great workplace experience, implementing a hybrid work strategy at DevOps Centers

What was the challenge?

In our newly opened DevOps Centers in Rotterdam, Netherlands and Riga, Latvia, we planned from the very beginning 60% desk occupancy as this was planned in the business case. This, and the fact that we’re envisaging a ‘digital office’ that offers great experience to the employees made us look for a tool that could support us in managing it. The financial aspects of desk occupancy management were crucial for us, so we needed a solution that would help us steer, manage and control desk occupancy in accordance with our requirements.

How did you make your people feel more comfortable about returning to the office?

When we were introducing HotDesk +, we wanted to see who comes to the office and how much it is being used, so the data that we could extract from the system was very helpful for us. At the moment, we are starting to create a ‘hybrid working policy’ in which we want to encourage Swisscom employees to come to the office at least 2 days a week.

What is your opinion of HotDeskPlus?

We have had a very positive experience, the team is very responsive to all kinds of questions, be it highly technical or a general one. We were also very pleased with the team’s readiness to discuss adding new features as per our request and requirements which was a really nice experience and not standard with cloud-based solutions.

We did an evaluation based on various criteria and we looked at many different solutions, but HotDesk+ offered exactly what we were looking for. The decision was based on the sum of all the assets that HotDesk+ offers compared to other solutions.

How does all this help you manage your office costs?

We are very satisfied with HotDesk+. The solution offers the exact functionality we need, but it also includes a number of additional features that work very well, e.g. meeting room integration. It’s a good value for money. We also greatly appreciate that the support is always quick to respond and resolve any issues.
